NINOS is the Spanish word for CHILDREN. The vision was conceived out of concern for children whose destinies are being truncated due to poverty, uncaring parents, lack of vision/ dream of a better life and lack of infrastructure on the part of government. The foundation was registered in February 2012 as a non governmental organization.
Model home for destitute children. The vision is to take as many children as possible off the streets and raise them in an atmosphere of love and proper home environment. This will be done in conjunction with the police, state and local governments. They will be sent to school and cared for by in house care-givers. Their potentials and talents will be identified for enhancement. Professional counselors will counsel and monitor them until they are fit to be reinstated/reconciled with their families. The Foundation will also be responsible for their education if the parents cannot afford the cost of education and if need be, the parents will be assisted with skill acquisition or trading capital. We are already collaborating with Lagos state Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development through the Correctional home for Boys, Oregun, Ikeja by sponsoring some of their home tracing projects and assisting parents to fulfill bail conditions for their children.
This is in two parts: Training sessions for parents and teachers on child handling. Teaching children to be balanced spiritually, physically, mentally and socially.
We are also into writing and publishing books that build up excellent characters and virtues in children in order to make them add value to the society.
